AGM
SaskBarley’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at 2:15 p.m. at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon. The AGM offers a chance to review experiences and insights from the past year, setting the groundwork for the year ahead.
The AGM will be held alongside other provincial crop commissions. Join us in person or virtually for your convenience.

Top Notch Farming coming in early February
SaskBarley will be at SaskCanola’s Top Notch Farming meetings in February. The locations are Spiritwood, St. Walburg, Unity and Melfort on February 6, 7, 8 and 13. Check out the agendas for a location near you and sign up.
SaskBarley seeks producers for on-farm field trials in 2024
SaskBarley has launched the application form for BarleyBin Field Lab, our on-farm field trial program. In 2024, we will be supporting up to three protocols.
- Seeding rates (malt or feed)
– Optimizing the target plant density balances seed costs, yield and stand management.
- Fertility rates (malt or feed)
– Optimal fertility rates need refining as newer genetics become more widely adopted that are higher yielding, have improved lodging resistance and lower protein.
- Plant growth regulator (malt or feed)
– Plant growth regulators (PGRs) are tools that can be used to manage lodging and straw in high-yielding environments.
