In Memory of Brent Johnson (1977-2024), Strasbourg, SK
With deep sadness we remember Brent Johnson, who passed away on September 18, 2024. Brent was elected to SaskBarley’s inaugural board in January 2014 and was a dedicated member of the SaskBarley board of directors, serving two terms with unwavering commitment to Saskatchewan’s barley industry. His passion for agriculture and his ability to advocate for farmers left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.
Brent was known for his ability to bridge traditional and modern farming practices, always working toward the betterment of agricultural policy. His leadership extended beyond the boardroom, as he contributed significantly to his family’s grain farm and cattle operation and built connections that were instrumental in shaping the industry’s future.
Beyond his professional contributions, Brent’s deep love for family, nature, and community was clear to all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, and he will be missed dearly.
The Saskatchewan agriculture industry and all those who knew him are better for his work and friendship. Brent’s legacy of hard work, advocacy, and dedication will continue to inspire for years to come.
“Our thoughts are with Brent’s family during this difficult time. His contributions to the barley sector and his impact on the people around him will not be forgotten.” – Cody Glenn, Chair of SaskBarley
